First Philly Bride

My planning process usually involves coffee. And pretty paper calendars and notebooks and shared Google Docs. Sometimes, it involves subway rides under Philadelphia to a Friday-night fish'n chips planning dinner.

Last night I had a planning dinner with my first beautiful Philadelphia bride, Katherine. We are about two months out from her marriage to Billy, and I cannot wait to help them celebrate at a fun-filled, classic-with-flair event where Katherine says she hopes that their guests will be enjoying themselves so much that the venue will be full of laughter.

While aiding Katherine in her preparations, she has chosen to do most of the leg-work herself, but is utilizing me as a logistical and concept guide. I will also be there to do the day-of coordination for the reception, including styling of the venue ahead of guests. We have been meeting every three months to sit down and go through her list, and during our time together, we have also been growing a lovely friendship.

Beyond the giddiness I experience when I am elbows-deep in table styling ahead of wedding guests, my favorite part of this business is meeting with brides (or couples, but it's usually a bride).

I love getting to know each bride as the beautiful woman she is, to hear her love story, and to work together to create and execute a beautiful wedding vision.

I can't wait to share with you the laughter that I know is going to abound at Katherine and Billy's wedding this spring. It is going to be a beautiful event that honors their love and marriage with a memorable party full of joyfully laughing family and friends.
